BPS updates

The Research Digest app is here!

Free iOS / Android app launched to support our internationally renowned blog.

25 April 2016

Since 2003, the British Psychological Society has been digesting new research in psychology, first in a fortnightly email to subscribers and then (from 2005) with a blog at http://www.bps.org.uk/digest. Now we have launched a free iOS and Android app for those who prefer to access our content 'on the go', on smartphone or tablet.

We now digest at least one new journal article every weekday, aiming to demonstrate that psychological science is fascinating and useful while also casting a critical eye over its methods. Our Editor Christian Jarrett and Contributing Writer Alex Fradera are both qualified in psychology to PhD level and they read thoroughly all the peer-reviewed research they report on. We strive to write in a style that educates, entertains and generates interest, but without resorting to hype.

The app will allow you to access that daily content and also to reorder various categories according to your main interests (via the menu bar on the contents page). You can also listen to the latest episode of our podcast, PsychCrunch, search, populate your own 'scrapbook', and share what you are reading.

The app is free to download via your Apple / Google Play / Amazon store, and is completely free to access. Please help us to share it widely.

The Research Digest app joins our recently launched app for The Psychologist. Over 8000 of you have now downloaded that in order to access the monthly issue, special editions and more.

UPDATE: The Research Digest app was eventually rolled into The Psychologist app.
